Driver Killed, Family Injured In Holiday Crash

EVERETT, Wash. —

Members of a Bothell family were injured and another driver was killed when a Honda slammed into the family’s minivan on state Route 96 east of Mill Creek on Christmas Eve, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Though not seriously injured, Mark Kelly, his wife and two children spent Christmas in the hospital following the crash.

The family was returning home from church when the crash occurred.

“I was scared and my wife was very scared. We were trying to move out of the car because we had smoke coming out of the dashboard and we were worried about the kids in back," said Kelly.

The State Patrol is investigating whether the other driver may have been impaired.

Kelly and his wife hope to be out of the hospital next week and he said that's when they'll celebrate Christmas.
