Seattle police are looking for a driver who ran down a man following a road rage incident Tuesday during the morning commute.

Police said it began when one man cut off another on southbound Interstate 5. The second man then pulled in front of the first and applied his brakes. Both drivers took the Mercer Street exit and stopped in the 700 block of Hayes Street.

When the second man stopped his car, the first man rammed it from behind, pushing the victim's car about 10 feet forward, police said. The victim got out of his car, and the other driver ran over him, breaking his leg.

Police said the victim reported that the two did not exchange words and that he didn't see the other man.

The 52-year-old victim was treated at the scene and taken to Harborview Medical Center.

Police found the front license plate of the suspect's vehicle, which was knocked loose during the attack.

Police issued this message to the driver: "Detectives have your license plate. You left it at the scene of the crime. They know the address where your car is registered. Do the right thing and call 911 to make arrangements to turn yourself in."

Police asked anyone with information about the incident to call 911.
