Drunken Driving Trial Under Way For Vili Fualaau

SEATAC, Wash. —

The jury is in place in the drunken driving trial of Vili Fualaau, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Fualaau, the former grade school student who married his teacher, Mary Kay Letourneau, is accused of driving drunk last December on Des Moines Memorial Drive in SeaTac.

Police said Fualaau confessed to the officer who pulled him over that he had about four shots of vodka earlier in the night.

The officer said he found two open bottles of beer under the passenger seat.

Letourneau is not expected to be called as a witness.
