Seattle police said people who were drunk were the targets of three armed robberies and attacks within minutes and blocks of one another in the University District.

The attacks all happened just north of the University of Washington campus between 1:30 a.m. and 2 a.m. Saturday, on the first weekend after the fall quarter began.

One of the robberies occurred on University Way and the others happened within two blocks.

Police said the victims in all three robberies were drunk and walking alone.

The robbers had guns which were used to pistol-whip the victims

In two of the robberies, the robbers were described as two African-American men.  In the third robbery, the robber was a white man.

The victims were unable to give officers a better description of the robbers.

The vehicles associated with the robberies were a green Mitsubishi Galant and a dark four-door Toyota.

On Sunday at 9:30 p.m., there was another attack on University Way in which a drunken man was punched and knocked unconscious but was not robbed.

Police said that attack is not believed to be connected to the others.
