BELLEVUE, Wash. —

A house fire in Newcastle left a man in his 50s critically hurt on Friday.

Firefighters said someone at a nearby gas station first reported the fire, saying two people -- the victim and his 16-year-old daughter -- were running down the street.

The man burned in the fire was taken to Harborview Medical Center.  The 16-year-old was not injured.

Chopper 7 arrived overhead to see fire shooting through the windows of the home, as dark smoke rose above the scene in the 6400 block of Lake Washington Boulevard in Newcastle.

Firefighters said the cause hasn't been determined, but they said the girl reported that her father had been burning boxes in the fireplace of the sunroom before the blaze.

Chopper 7 video showed firefighters cutting through the roof of the three-story home.
