Shoreline Teachers Plan 1-Day Walkout

SHORELINE, Wash. —

The Shoreline School District announced it will close school during a one-day strike planned for Thursday.

Teachers said they'll walk out to protest classroom staffing decisions.

Teachers said they are upset with a shift in elementary staffing and that they said is leading to larger class sizes.

The district said the changes were part of the new contract that avoided a last minute strike earlier this month.

If the district announces that classes will be canceled, students would have to make up the day in June.
