Police are looking for 46-year-old Kevin Odneal in connection with a robbery and possession of a firearm.

EVERETT, Wash. —

After a man was found dead inside the garage of an Everett home and another man was found wandering in the street dazed and bloody, police said an investigation has led them to believe that the bloodied man was the victim in the case.

Detectives said they are looking for Kevin Price Odneal for his involvement in the first-degree robbery of the 26-year-old victim a week ago at a home on 75th Street where Odneal lives. Police said the victim told detectives during an interview that he received a call from a Michael Carter, a man he described as a good friend since grade school, who told him that he needed some money.

Police said Carter asked the victim to come to the south Everett home, and when Carter arrived, the victim, Carter and 46-year-old Odneal went to the garage and began what the victim described as a casual conversation. At some point, without warning, Carter then hit the victim in the head with an object and accused him of taking money from his brother, Everett police Sgt. Robert Goetz said.

Goetz said Carter continued to strike the victim in the head while Odneal forcefully removed the victim’s motorcycle jacket and ordered the victim give them his wallet, which contained about $1,200. The victim said the Odneal then left the garage with his jacket and he didn’t see him again.

The victim said Carter continued to strike him in the head. When he began to believe that he was going to be knocked unconscious and killed, the victim pulled out a Glock 9 mm handgun and shot Carter multiple times, Everett police said. Police later found Carter dead.

The victim then fled the garage, bleeding profusely from multiple head wounds and was out in the road when he was found by police officers. The victim told police he had thrown a gun in the bushes nearby. That weapon was recovered, police said.

When detectives interviewed Odneal, he said that he had been walking his dog, and as he returned home, heard a single gunshot. He also told them that he saw the victim, who he had never seen before, flee the garage with a handgun, Goetz said.

Police said the victim was shown a photo montage and positively identified Odneal as being involved in the robbery.

During the search of the Odneal’s home, detectives located two firearms, an AR-15 and a lever-action hunting rifle, investigators said. Detectives said they were able to determine that those rifles were Odneal’s. Odneal is a convicted felon, which prohibits him from possessing a firearm, officers said.

Detectives have been trying to locate Odneal over the last week to arrest him for investigation of robbery and possession of a firearm.

Police said Odneal hasn’t been seen at the home since officers questioned him the night of the incident.

Odneal is described as white, 46 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall, 200 pounds with gray hair and green eyes.

Anyone who knows Odneal ‘s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or the Everett Police Department tip line at 425-257– 8450.
