Facebook Threat Prompts Modified Lockdown At Kamiak High School

SEATTLE —

Kamiak High School in Mukilteo is on modified lockdown Thursday, school district officials said.

Officials said a threat was posted on Facebook Wednesday night that said something about “pulling a Virginia Tech on Kamiak.”

The school notified police and they are investigating the case.

Police have identified the person who made the threat as a former Kamiak graduate, the school district said.

Modified lockdown means the students are still going to classes, but all the doors are locked. Also any classes normally held outside are inside.

There is more security on campus and a lot of parents volunteered to be at the school to help out and keep an eye out for anything suspicious, officials said.
