Family Escapes Lake City House Fire



SEATTLE —

Several people escaped from a house in Seattle's Lake City neighborhood after fire broke out early Wednesday morning, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

It took firefighters about 10 minutes to put out the fire that started at about 5 a.m. in the 14000 block of 35th Avenue Northeast.

Five or six people got out OK, but the family dog died in the blaze.

Firefighters said the fire appeared to have started in the kitchen, but there was no immediate word on a cause or an estimate of damage.
