REDMOND, Wash. —
A large home went up in flames, bringing over 40 firefighters from around Redmond, Kirkland, Woodinville and Duvall to battle the flames.
The first call about the blaze came in around 9:13 p.m. Monday with reports of flames that started in the front and spread to the back of the home located at 13000 block of 167th Avenue Northeast in Redmond.
The call was quickly upgraded to a second alarm fire by crews at the scene who reported seeing flames shooting up from the roof.
Investigators said one adult and three children were at the home earlier in the evening when one of the children smelled something burning, possibly coming from an electrical outlet. The family unplugged their computer and then the family left the house to run an errand.
When they returned, they found fire crews battling flames at their home.
The Red Cross is assisting the family with food and shelter.
An official cause of the fire has not yet been determined.
No one was hurt.
