Family Mourns Teen Killed In Boulevard Park Shooting


A West Seattle family is mourning the death of a 15 year old boy. The boy was killed in a hail of gunfire while staying at a friend's house over the weekend.

Two suspects are in custody, accused of firing into the house in Boulevard Park, and will be in court Tuesday afternoon.

One of those suspects -- an 18 year old man -- is at the King County Jail. The other suspect -- a 16 year old male -- is being held at the Youth Center.

Both are accused of a crime that has devastated a tight knit family.

It is a Cambodian tradition to come together, to eat and to mourn. This time for 15 year old Thaddeus Soth -- Tat, to those who loved him. His mother got the dreaded phone call early Sunday morning, on her birthday. In fact, Thaddeus was supposed to be at a Seattle Mariners game .. celebrating his brother's birthday. But he decided not to go, instead hanging out with his friends.

Family Mourns Death Of Son In Random Shooting

It was a fateful decision. Thaddeus instead went to his best friend's house on South 124th Avenue in Boulevard Park. As he watched television, Thaddeus was struck down in a hail of bullets that shot through a basement window.

Now his family is left to go on without him. His brother says he was looking forward to buying new clothes, and starting school next month. The family is at least happy the alleged killers are in custody.

They plan to hold a funeral for Thaddeus later this week.

The family has started a fund at any Washington Mutual Bank.
