Fire Burns In Olympic National Forest



LAKE CUSHMAN, Wash. —

Firefighters are battling a wildfire in the Olympic National Forest that forced more than a dozen people out of their camp sites on Tuesday night, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The fire is burning near the Staircase Campground, at the north end of Lake Cushman in Mason County.

Estimates of the fire's size ranged from a few acres to as many as 20.

Crews are planning to drop water onto the fire using helicopters.

Roads in the area are closed.

No homes are threatened.
