Fire Rages On Boat In Puget Sound

A crew of six escaped from their burning fishing boat into a life raft this morning off Shoreline near Richmond Beach, north of Seattle, the Coast Guard said.

Smoke shot from the Carol M as firefighters fought the blaze, video from Chopper 7 showed.

Chopper 7 video showed other boats at the scene, including the Seattle fire boat Chief Seattle and boats from King County.

Petty Officer Mike Zolzer said the fire on the "Carol M" was reported by a tug boat after 9 a.m.

No one was injured and the fire is contained.

Environmental agencies are checking for pollution.
