JUANITA, Wash. —

Two separate fires broke out on the Eastside Monday, one burning a large home in Juanita and the other destroying a house in Clyde Hill.

Fire broke out at the Juanita home, near 82nd Ave. NE and NE 125th, about 2 p.m.

Dozens of friends and neighbors watched in shock as a family's dream home went up in flames.

"Our hearts just go out to their family. Just sad; it's really sad," said neighbor Danielle Gelssner.

It was especially sad because it was no ordinary house. Greg Seiler designed and built it himself.

"We were very fortunate to have such a nice house in the first place - and will work hard and build another one just as nice," Seiler said.

The house is a total loss.

"One dream dies and you start on the next one," Seiler said.

Soon after, flames were seen shooting from a home in the 9400 block of NE 25th St. in Clyde Hill.

At the Clyde Hill fire, firefighters were putting out hot spots late Monday afternoon.

Neighbors said the home had been vacant but was recently sold. They also said the house had become infested with carpenter ants.

There was no word on the cause of the Clyde Hill fire and no injuries were reported.
