Fireworks Cache Found In Burned Home

BOTHELL, Wash. —

Investigators looking into the cause of a Bothell house fire want to speak with the home's tenants after large amounts of illegal fireworks were found inside the home.

The homeowner told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News that agents with the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives responded to the scene with firefighters after the fireworks were found.

The fire erupted Saturday afternoon and destroyed much of the home on Valley Circle Drive.

"I was out enjoying the day fishing, got a call. Not much you can do -- let authorities do their work, and they did. (The house was) fully engulfed in flames," said Nate Wahl, the homeowner.

Wahl said he'd like to talk to his renters who are apparently nowhere to be found.

Wahl said he was told that his renters had been selling illegal fireworks from the home. He said the Snohomish County Sheriff's Office shut them down around the Fourth of July.
