Folklife Festival Marks 40th Year In The Northwest

SEATTLE —

The Northwest Folklife Festival is celebrating its 40th year this Memorial Day Weekend.

Organizers said they are expecting about 200,000 visitors to Seattle Center over the holiday weekend, with weather expected to be better than last year’s rain-soaked event.

The festival unites an array of ethnic and cultural groups every year for hundreds of music and dance performances, workshops, crafts and food.

The event lasts all weekend long, running from 11 a.m. until 10 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, and 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday.
