SEATTLE —

A fight at a rooming house involving a garden tool ended with one man slightly injured and another man in handcuffs.

The fight occurred shortly before noon Sunday at a home in the 500 block of North 79th Street in Seattle.

Initial reports said one man was wielding a sword, but when police arrived they found that the weapon in the attack was a half-moon edger.

The victim, who was wearing a bandage, said his ear was wounded.

“He sucker punched me in the laundry room and ran outside and got an (edger) and ran after me and tried to cut me,” said Gerard Plasse.

A man in his 60s was arrested on assault charges.

Plasse said his attacker was to be evicted from the rooming house on Monday.
