Gay Pride Parade Marches Through Downtown Seattle

SEATTLE —

An estimated 400,000 people turned out for the 34th annual Pride Parade as it kicked off along Fourth Avenue Sunday morning in downtown Seattle.

Since the beginning, the parade has celebrated the local gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgendered community.

“Even if you were straight you would be happy, you would feel good at this parade,” said Louis Zitenbancih of Seattle.

Everything from motorcycles to music and entertainment and even politicians appeared in the parade.

The recent legalization of same-sex marriages in California, and new rights for domestic partners in our state, gave parade-goers extra reason to celebrate.
