Little Brownie Bakers admits that some of the cookies are, "not up to our quality standards."
The baker insists the cookies are safe to eat, but they taste a little "off."
Little Brownie Bakers and the Girl Scouts want it known this is not a recall, but more of a "quality withdrawal."
Little Brownie Bakers say the cookies may "contain oils that may be breaking down which can result in an off taste and smell."
They only cookies affected are the Lemon Chalet Crème. Thin Mints, Tagalongs, Samoas and other favorites should taste as expected.
The Girl Scouts are offering a refund for certain batches of the Lemon Chalet Crème cookies.
The affected batches have the following lot codes, located on the bottom of each cookie box and on the brown cases: 7455881, 7455882, 7455883, 7456741, 7456742, 7456743, 7457661, 7457662, 7457663, 7458521, 7458522, 7458523, 7459401, 7459402 and 7459403.
Little Brownie Bakers says it will notify all of the Girl Scouts councils that received these lot codes.
The baker will provide replacement product for councils and consumers.
