SEATTLE —
The tolling was supposed to begin in mid- April.
The DOT said toll collection won't start until May or June.
The Seattle Times reported that various glitches with the tolling system are to blame for the delay.
Some people have had problems buying or setting up the “Good to Go” transponders drivers will need to pay the tolls across the bridge.
The DOT’s Good to Go website has had problems since its launch, initially prompting the DOT to tell people to hold off on getting their transponders.
There were also some security concerns about the website.
Since launching the program, people also have complained about not being able to get through to anyone on the phone to help with problems.
Transportation Secretary Paula Hammond said she wants to iron out any and all problems to avoid major problems after the tolling starts.
The company handling the tolling accounts, Electronic Transaction Consultants, of Texas, has announced its adding staff, improving its telephone system and simplifying its website.
