Gordon Hempton: Soundtracker

When he earned a degree in botany back in the mid-70s, Gordon Hempton had no idea that his interest in the natural world would lead to a career studying nature in a most unusual way, by recording it.

Today, Hempton, has established himself as one of the world's premier nature sound recordists.

He's produced more than 60 CDs and has received a national Emmy for his sound recordings on a PBS documentary.

But the 54-year-old soundtracker from Port Angeles isn't content with his accomplishments. No, he wants to change the way you HEAR the world.
