Gun-Toting Robber Strikes At Least 10 Coffee Stands

Man Caught On Camera Preparing For Heist

TACOMA, Wash. —

Police in Pierce County are asking for the public's help in finding a man who has robbed nearly a dozen espresso stands in the last two-and-a-half months and hope recently acquired surveillance video could lead to an arrest.

Police said the man managed to avoid surveillance cameras at all the robberies until he was caught on camera preparing for a robbery on Monday morning in Tacoma.

Investigators said the video is the best look investigators have gotten at a man they say is behind at least ten robberies of espresso stands. See the video

The robber was captured by cameras at a nearby business on 56th Street near Tyler Street in Tacoma seen going from the driver's side to the trunk of a car while checking out the area.

The video shows the man walk over to the Fox Hollow Coffee Shop armed with a gun.

Moments later he is seen first walking, and then running to his car.

Investigators said the same man robbed a Perk Central in Spanaway in early January.

In each case, the robber walks to the window, pulls a gun, makes sure the barista sees him chamber a round, and then demands cash.

Victims said the man shouts "give me your f_____g money or I'll blow your head off!" As he leaves, he tells the women to "close your eyes and count backward from 100." In one case, he told the victim if she didn't close her eyes a bomb would go off.

Investigators said the man is described as white, about 5 feet 7 inches tall, 20 to 30 years old, with a medium to slender build and may wear a fake mustache. He was driving a 2000 silver Chrysler 300.

Police said the robber should be considered extremely dangerous.

"I would consider him potentially very dangerous. There is always that level of concern when someone actually uses a weapon," said Tacoma police Detective Gretchen Aguirre.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Stoppers of Tacoma /Pierce County. There is a reward for information leading to an arrest.
