Hackers Continue Harassing Fircrest Family

TACOMA, Wash. —

One Fircrest family who has been the target of cell phone hackers said the calls temporarily stopped following a KIRO 7 Eyewitness News report last week, but the hackers are back at it again.

“Courtney did receive calls again today, four or five calls telling her where she was, they knew where she was,” Heather Kuykendall said.

Courtney, Heather’s daughter, has been the target of most of the calls with threats aimed at her and her family.

According to the Kuykendalls, the hacker has accessed her call list, sending text and voice messages and threats to her relatives and friends.

The Kuykendalls said they have had a new alarm system installed in their home because they believe the hacker has actually been to the house before banging on windows.

“It’s very wearing, and what’s even more wearing is how it’s wearing down my kids,” Kuykendall said.

Investigators told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News the hacker has been able to cover their tracks.

“We have a lot of manpower and we expanded a lot of time on this and we’d like to solve it as much as anyone, to put an end to it and find out how it’s being done,” Detective Ed Troyer with the Pierce County Sheriff’s Department said.

Investigators are asking anyone who knows anything about the hacker to contact them immediately. Crimestopper’s is offering a $1,000 reward for anyone with information leading to the hacker. All callers will remain anonymous.
