LAKEWOOD, Wash. —

Police have arrested a woman in connection with a Lakewood hit-and-run, but are still searching for her car.

Lakewood police said a 39-year-old woman was crossing the street when eyewitnesses said a car ran a red light and struck the woman. The accident happened in the 7400 block of Lakewood Drive in Lakewood.

Minutes later, police said they found the driver of the car walking around near her home in the 7900 block of A Street in Tacoma. Police believe she abandoned her car.

The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI, said Lt. Dave Guttu of the Lakewood police.

The missing car is described as a 2006 Toyota Scion, two-door, and silver in color, like the one pictured above. The license number is 218 VIJ. Police said it should have a cracked windshield and some front end damage.

Police believe the car was abandoned between 7400 block of Lakewood Drive in Lakewood, and 7900 A Street in Tacoma.

The pedestrian is in serious condition at St. Joseph Medical Center, said Guttu.

Police ask anyone with information about the car to call 253-798-4721.
