Rainwater flooded garages and storm drains when sump pumps couldn't keep up with the sudden downpour, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

One man woke up to a flooded basement and garage, after water poured down a steep grade into his home.

"It dumped at least two hours straight, the hardest I've seen it rain here," said Tom Allan, a neighbor.

Dispatchers told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News several other homes in Kirkland's Rose Hill neighborhood were also flooded when the heavy rain moved through.
