April, 2004: Fires destroy newly-built homes near Snohomish. The next day, bottles of flammable liquid are found in three houses under construction in Maltby. An e-mail from someone claiming to be with the Earth Liberation Front says the group is "probably responsible" for the Snohomish fires.
Aug., 2003: About 10,000 of mink are released from their pens at a Sultan fur farm. The Animal Liberation Front claims responsibility.
May, 2001: Fire burns the Center for Urban Horticulture at the University of Washington, destroying and research and causing millions in damage.
At the same time, an office and a fleet of trucks at Jefferson Poplar Farms in Clatskanie, Ore., are burned. The Earth Liberation Front claims responsibility for both cases of arson.
May, 2000: Hundreds of chickens are stolen from a Burlington farm. The Animal Liberation Front claims the chickens are placed in "loving home."
May, 2000: A fire burns at the Olympia headquarters of Holbrook Inc., a timber company. The Earth Liberation Front says a group called Revenge of the Trees claims responsibility.
Dec. 30, 1999: An 80-foot Bonneville Power Administration transmission tower outside Bend is knocked down.
Nov., 1999: The Animal Liberation Front takes credit for vandalizing a WSU research office in Puyallup, where windows, computers and microscopes were smashed and acid and bleach were poured throughout the building. The lab is part of WSU's college of Veterinary Medicine.
Dec. 26, 1998: An arson fire burns the corporate headquarters of U.S. Forest Industries in Medford, Oregon. The three-alarm blaze caused over $500,000 in damages. ELF claims responsibility.
June, 1998: The ALF is blamed for arsons that destroy two Olympia-area U. S. Agriculture buildings.
