SEATTLE —

Neighbors jumped into action to help apprehend an intruder who attacked a Ballard couple after a violent struggle Tuesday night.

Heroes Apprehend Stabbing Suspect

A burglar broke into a home and stabbed the couple with scissors while the couple's twin sons watched.

Neighbors arriving home heard screaming and saw a man being pushed out the front door of the home.

"The wife comes running out with half of her face bloody and she says 'I can't believe you did this in front of my children. Somebody stop him. He's a burglar,'" said Rainey Shaw, a neighbor.

Shaw grabbed the suspect and held him until her fiancé, Alvin Cameros, put him on the ground and her father, Paul Hendrickson, got his pistol.

Police arrived to arrest the man.

The husband and wife's injuries are not life threatening, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.
