SEATTLE —

Firefighters are trying to figure out what caused a three-alarm blaze that destroyed a south Seattle warehouse.

The fire at a Capital Industries warehouse in the Georgetown neighborhood started Sunday morning and was expected to continue smolering through the night.

Seattle Fire Department spokeswoman Helen Fitzpatrick says the worker who reported the fire escaped unharmed.

At one point, the thick, black smoke billowing from the building could be seen as far as five miles away.
