SEATTLE —

King County sheriff's deputies want your help catching a ring of jewelry robbers.

A team of men has been targeting jewelry couriers in the Puget Sound area.

Couriers quietly sell and deliver thousands of dollars worth of jewels and gold to stores in our area.

But in the last eight months, they've been stalked, held up with weapons and been robbed of a million dollars' worth of inventory.

Jewelry Robbers Sought

Jewelry couriers have been jumped three times in the city of SeaTac. One had two cases of jewelry stolen out of his car in Redmond. Two were held up at knifepoint as they were going into their motel in Bellevue.

After a robbery outside a Motel 6 in SeaTac Jan. 28, police were able to sketch a suspect who they believe participated in at least two other robberies last year.

Alvin Goldfarb has spent decades in the jewelry business and knows how dangerous it can be. The couriers who were robbed in Bellevue last August had just left Goldfarb's store.

"It's portable wealth. A diamond is numberless -- they can easily pop it out of the setting and if they an have international connection it turns to money instantly," Goldfarb said.

Anyone with information about the crimes is asked to call 206-296-7530.
