Julie Francavilla

KIRO 7 Eyewitness News anchor Julie Francavilla is a Seattle favorite with morning news viewers, waking up western Washington with the day’s news that’s “new from overnight” for more than 15 years. Julie joined KIRO 7 Eyewitness News in April of 2003.

Julie starts her day alongside many Seattle area news viewers, co-anchoring KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at 4:30 a.m., 5 a.m. and 6 a.m. She also anchors KIRO 7 Eyewitness News at Noon Monday through Friday. Julie has been known and respected in the Seattle community for her genuine presence and delivery of the area’s news.

Prior to joining KIRO 7, Julie anchored KING-TV’s morning and noon news shows for more than a decade. She joined the station in 1991 as a reporter. During her tenure at KING, The Seattle Times called Julie, “warm and professional, a polished model for moms or moguls.”

During her 20 years as a news anchor and reporter, Julie has won numerous awards from organizations including the Associated Press and the National Association of Broadcasters.

Julie is a graduate of the Journalism School at the University of Colorado in Boulder. She received the Boulder Press Club scholarship and started her career in broadcasting as a college student, working for ABC News in Denver.

When Julie is not bringing you the morning or noon news, she enjoys spending time with her husband and their two children. She and her family believe wholeheartedly in giving back to the community and volunteer their time with many local non-profits, including the March of Dimes, Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Girl Scouts and the National Italian American Foundation and other organizations that help local children and families.

The mission of the March of Dimes is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. It carries out this mission through research, community services, education and advocacy to save babies' lives.
