A K9 unit with the Seattle Police Department helped nab a man involved with an assault and series of 911 calls overnight.
Police said around 9:13 p.m. Saturday officers started responding to a string of calls throughout the night and into early Sunday morning.
According to police, the first set of calls involved a man who assaulted his wife in an altercation at Children’s Hospital in the 4800 block of Sand Point Way Northeast.
Before officers arrived to the location, the man was gone.
Police said around 11:14 p.m., the man called his wife and threatened to kill himself.
When officers searched the area for the man, they could not locate him.
Around 12:30 a.m., the man came back to the hospital and was told to leave.
At this time an officer was checking the area with a K9 unit.
At 2:19 a.m., a resident called 911 reporting a person sneaking around his home in the 4500 block of Northeast 50th Street, close to Children’s Hospital.
Police said an update came in of the man seen in a fenced yard on the other side of Sand Point Way Northeaset.
When officers and the K9 unit spotted the man, he ran away.
Officers ordered the man to stop, but he refused and continued to run away.
Police said the K9 was released and stopped the man nearby.
The man was taken into custody and booked into the King County Jail for misdemeanor domestic violence assault.
According to police, the man was involved in all of the series of calls to 911.
