Kent Man Arrested In Wife’s Shooting Death

SEQUIM, Wash. —

Police arrested a man Thursday morning in death of his wife who was found shot to death in the house they shared in an upscale neighborhood east of Kent, reported KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Tracy Floren, 64, was arrested at about 11 a.m. in Sequim where he was overseeing the construction of a house that was meant to be the couple’s “dream home,” police said.

Nancy Floren, 56, was found dead at about 6:15 a.m. on Sept. 2, 2007, after deputies went to the Floren’s home in the 20300 block of 102nd Avenue Southeast to investigate after a burglar alarm went off at the house.

Police said they found Nancy in a pool of blood in a hallway on the main floor of the house. The victim was shot twice in the head.

Deputies said they found a revolver next to the body, but it was not the weapon used to kill Nancy. Police said the weapon used in the homicide has not been found.

Detectives said that following the slaying, several officers worked on the case and made Thursday’s arrest based on physical evidence found in and near the scene of the killing, as well as contradictory statements made to detectives by the suspect.

Police brought Floren back to King County where he was booked for investigation of first-degree homicide. The prosecutor’s office is expected to file charges against Floren in the next few days.

The couple was married for more than 20 years.
