Kent Police Investigating Deaths Of Two Adults And Assault Of Child

KENT —

Police are trying to determine whether a man and a

woman found dead inside a Kent home Friday were both murdered or

whether it was a murder-suicide.

A 7-year-old girl in the home

suffered serious abdominal injuries. A relative of the girl called

9-1-1 shortly after noon to report she had found a bloodied body at

the home.

Kent police say the relative went to the home after being

contacted by staff at Meridian Elementary School, who had failed to

reach anyone at the girl's home after she failed to show up at

school. Authorities did not release any of the victims' identities,

but say the house is home to a family of three. News reports citing

family members say the home is that of Loc "Michael" Phan, his

wife, Phuong Dung Phan, and their daughter Cindy. The man and woman

were well-known in the Vietnamese community.

Michael Phan was a

local nightclub owner in Seattle's International District, a

booking agent, and a booster of Vietnamese businesses in town.

Police obtained a warrant and began searching the house for

evidence Friday night. Neighbors said a brand-new black Hummer H-2

vehicle the couple owned was missing.
