KIRO 7 Special: Another Perfect Storm

Big storms hit Western Washington all the time, but the Great Coastal Gale of December 2007 will go down as one of the worst in the past 50 years.

The storm dropped nearly 2 feet of rain in the Chehalis Valley – triggering landslides, shutting down a section of Interstate 5 and leaving flood plains in 7 feet of water.

"Another Perfect Storm" examines why this storm was so devastating. Was it just the wind and rain or were their other reasons? Perhaps even human error contributed to the damage that reached well over $165 million?
