Warm Coats for Warm Kids – January KIRO 7 and WARM 106.9 FM team for this winter project. Throughout the month of January, KIRO 7 viewers and WARM 106.9 listeners are encouraged to drop off new or gently worn coats, hats, gloves and scarves at participating sponsor locations. Donations are distributed to local charities including non-profit agencies such as TreeHouse, Child Haven, YWCA, Multi Service Center of North and East King County and Eastside Domestic Violence. WalkAmerica – April March of Dimes and KIRO 7 team for this annual event. WalkAmerica is the biggest walking event in the nation with more than 1-million walkers and volunteer participants raising funds to help babies be born healthy. More than 10,000 residents in Washington State participate in this event. As the exclusive television sponsor, KIRO 7 will have a walk team and two booths at the event. Moving Feet Without Wheat - May KIRO 7 is proud to be the exclusive television sponsor of Moving Feet Without Wheat benefiting the Gluten Intolerance Group. KIRO 7 Eyewitness News anchor Wayne Havrelly will host this non-competitive walk around Seward Park. Proceeds raised from this event are used to assist in awareness, education and research sponsored by the Gluten Intolerance Group, a national nonprofit organization. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disease affecting over 1.5 million Americans.

Surviving With Style Fashion Show And Luncheon- May KIRO 7 is proud to be the exclusive television sponsor of the Surviving With Style Fashion Show and Luncheon presented by Cell Therapeutics, Inc. Two KIRO 7 anchors will host this event. Proceeds from the Surviving With Style Fashion Show benefit Gilda’s Club Seattle. A meeting place where men, women and children living with cancer, along with their families and friends, join with others to build social and emotional support as a supplement to medical care.

Children’s Ride 11 – June KIRO 7 teams with Children’s Hospital and Harley-Davidson for this annual 48-mile charity motorcycle ride. Proceeds raised from this event benefit the uncompensated care program at Children’s Hospital, which assures care to all kids in the Northwest regardless of their ability to pay. Bite of Seattle – July One of Seattle’s largest festivals, the Bite of Seattle features dozens of the city’s finest restaurants and food vendors. The opportunity to sample great food and listen to free entertainment will draw crowds upwards of 500,000 to the Seattle Center. As exclusive television sponsor, KIRO 7 will staff a booth to giveaway promotional items and schedule anchor and reporter appearances.

Evergreen State Fair – August The Evergreen State is the largest festival in Snohomish County featuring rodeos, monster trucks, 4H animal contests, concerts and carnival rides. And will draw crowds upwards of 800,000 people to the Monroe Fairgrounds. All money raised from this tournament and auction benefit Children’s Home Society of Washington, an organization that provides support to children through parent education, foster care, adoption and advocacy. Making Strides Against Breast Cancer Walk - September KIRO 7 is proud to sponsor Making Strides Against Breast Cancer benefiting the Northwest Chapter of The American Cancer Society. All funds raised from Making Strides Against Breast Cancer benefit programs, promote early detection, fund research into a cure, and advocate for access to quality health care and screening for all women. Mad Hatter Walk And Roll For Lupus - October KIRO 7 and the Pacific Northwest Chapter of the Lupus Foundation of America team for this annual event. Funds raised from this 2.5 walk support Lupus education and research. As the exclusive television partner, KIRO 7 will create and air a public service announcement promoting the event and KIRO 7 Eyewitness News anchor Steve Raible will serve as the celebrity chair and walk emcee. Toys for Tots – December In partnership with the U.S Marine Corps, Toys for Tots is a project that matches needy kids with new toys. New, unwrapped toys are collected at KIRO 7 and distributed to children through non-profit agencies in the Seattle area. As the exclusive television sponsor, KIRO 7 will hold an internal toy drive and serve as a drop off location for toy donations. (2005: Distributed over 100,000 toys)
