Lanes closed in both directions after Lakewood I-5 crash

Lakewood crash on Interstate 5
The State Patrol said a truck involved in the crash slid down a guardrail about 40 yards before striking a light pole.

A collision caused the closure of lanes on both north and southbound Interstate 5 in Lakewood Wednesday morning.

The crash occurred in the northbound lanes of I-5 at State Route 512, but a truck involved in the crash slid down a guardrail about 40 yards before striking a light pole, causing the closure of southbound lanes as well.

The truck came to rest on top of the guardrail.  

State troopers said three vehicles were involved in the crash.

Initially, two lanes were blocked southbound and three left lanes were blocked northbound.  It took several hours to clear the crash scene.

The Washington State Patrol said there were no major injuries.
