Last Major Component Arrives For First Boeing 787

EVERETT, Wash. —

A super freighter flight from Charleston, South Carolina, delivered a fuselage section for the Boeing 787 early today at the factory in Everett.

Boeing spokeswoman Mary Hanson said it is the last major component for the new plane. The first set of wings were delivered on Tuesday from Japan.

Workers are now assembling the first 787 that is scheduled to roll out July 8, fly in August and be delivered in May of next year.

The 787 is the first jetliner to use composites as its primary material. Boeing has 567 orders for the plane from 44 airlines.
