Level 2 Sex Offender Charged With Molesting Girl

BREMERTON, Wash. —

A man found guilty of sexually assaulting a child in Nebraska was charged Tuesday with molesting a 7-year-old Kitsap County girl.

According to the Kitsap Sun, county prosecutors charged the level 2 sex offender with child molestation.

Court documents said Michael J. Alderman Sr., 36, molested the girl while baby-sitting her during the past three months.

Police confirmed Tuesday that Alderman was a level 2 sex offender. While police require level 2 sex offenders to register with law enforcement, they do not notify the community about level 2 offenders.

The Sun said a Florida Department of Law enforcement Web site showed that Alderman was found guilty of sexual assault of a child in 1999 in Nebraska and that he failed to register as a sex offender in Florida in 2006.

Alderman remains in the Kitsap County jail on $500,000 bail.
