Snow fell in a few areas late Wednesday night and continues to fall in a hit-or-miss fashion across the region.

There was some snow accumulation in Bothell, Juanita, Redmond, Mill Creek, Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace and Monroe.

Most of the overnight and morning snow action was focused over Whatcom, Skagit, Island, and Snohomish counties.  A few schools were delayed because of icy roads.

The system will continue moving southward through the morning and early afternoon, with light snow moving into the central and south Sound -- including Seattle.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Brian Monahan said any accumulations will be very light.

“In fact, many areas -- including downtown Seattle -- will see just snowflakes with no accumulation. At most, expect a dusting to up to an inch in the lowlands with amounts above 600-700 feet possibly up to two inches,” he said.

To the start of the weekend, conditions will be dry and cold on Friday, but on Saturday, there is a chance of light lowland snow. 

“A new area of low pressure moves south along the coast Saturday, providing another chance of lowland snow. This chance will be more widespread and, while light, many areas could see snow to start the weekend,” said Monahan.
