SEATTLE —

Lights went out Saturday night all over Seattle for an hour starting at 8 p.m.

Even the Space Needle turned out the lights for Earth Hour.

The campaign for Earth Hour began last year in Australia and traveled from the South Pacific to Europe in step with the setting of the sun.

The goal is to raise awareness of energy consumption and climate issues.
