SEATTLE —

A semi-truck crashed into a construction zone along I-5 in Federal Way, causing a diesel spill that took several hours to clear up Monday night.

The female truck driver hit four construction vehicles around 9:30 p.m., pushing two of the vehicles off of the road.

The crash blocked one lane on southbound I-5 near State Route 18 for nearly six hours.

Officers tell us a construction worker was in the pathway of the semi-truck, seconds before the crash.

No construction workers were hit.

Department of Ecology crews cleaned up nearly 50 gallons of spilled diesel.

The truck driver was taken St. Francis Hospital for minor injuries.

It is unknown if drugs or alcohol were involved, but she is being interviewed to find a cause for the crash.
