Maleng Memorial Scheduled For Saturday

SEATTLE —

A public memorial service for King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng will be held at the University of Washington's Hec Edmundson Pavilion on Saturday at 5 p.m., UW officials told KIRO 7 Eyewitness News.

Maleng, one of the longest-serving elected officials in state history, died after collapsing at a University of Washington event on Thursday night.

Tributes of flowers and cards poured into the King County Courthouse last week as tearful staff members recalled him as a man of boundless energy, reflection and integrity.

Maleng had been King County's elected prosecutor since 1978.
