Mall Shooting Victim's Condition Upgraded



TACOMA, Wash. —

Tacoma Mall shooting victim Dan McKown has been upgraded to satisfactory at Tacoma General Hospital.

Brendan "Dan" McKown is out of the intensive care unit, according to the hospital.

Tacoma police had a "very productive interview" with McKown last Friday, after he was upgraded from critical to serious condition.

Police spokesman Mark Fulghum said no details of the interview would be released becuase the investigation is continuing.

McKown, who worked at the mall, was carrying a gun at the time of the shooting. He was shot twice.

Family members said they have two messages for the public: No visitors and no more flowers, please.
