Man steals cash from Everett market after beating employee with pipe

EVERETT, Wash. —

Everett police are looking for a man who beat a clerk with a pipe and robbed a small grocery store Saturday morning.

 

The incident happened at the Ron’s Food Market around 11:46 a.m.

 

According to police, the man walked into the market, went behind the counter and beat an employee with a pipe.

 

The man threw a register on the floor, which broke it. He collected the cast and fled the scene.

 

The employee was hospitalized with multiple wounds to her head and hand.

 

Police described the man as Hispanic, in his 20s, about 5-feet 7-inches and 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark jacket with a light and dark baseball cap and pants. He fled the area in a white minivan, which may have been a Chrysler.

 

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to call the Everett Police Department.
