BURIEN, Wash. —

Family and friends gathered at a memorial in Burien on Friday evening to remember 24-year-old Joel Bush.

Bush was the man who died after falling three stories after sitting on an escalator’s handrail at Bellevue’s Lincoln Square at 1:30 a.m Friday.

At the memorial, Bush’s girlfriend, Madeline Kissler, spoke with KIRO 7 about how full of life he was.

“His fun sense of humor, and energetic and always wanting to go and do something,” said Kissler.

Police are calling the death an accident but are investigating whether alcohol played a role.
