Man Fatally Shot At North Seattle Motel



Seattle, Wash. —

Detectives have no suspect in a fatal shooting at a north Seattle motel that happened on Sunday night, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The shooting happened at the A-1 Motel on Green Lake Way North and Aurora Avenue North at about 10 p.m.

Police told KIRO 7 they found the victim in a hallway behind the motel lobby.

Seattle police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said detectives interviewed one witness.

The witness told police he and the victim were in a hotel room when someone knocked on the door.

They didn't answer it. Later, the victim reportedly stepped outside to smoke a cigarette.

The witness heard gunshots, and then found his friend in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the head.

The victim was alive when transported to the hospital, but he did not survive through the night, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

Police have not released the victim's name.

Police said they found little evidence at the scene and no drugs or indication of criminal activity in the motel room.
