Man Gunned Down On South Seattle Sidewalk



SEATTLE —

Police responding to reports of gunshots in South Seattle at 11:47 p.m. Monday found a man dead on the sidewalk.

Seattle Police spokesman Sean Whitcomb said officers were called to the intersection of 14th Avenue South and South Donovan Street just before midnight. Neighbors called 911 to report hearing gunfire. When they arrived, they found a man on a sidewalk who had been shot in the head and chest.

Fire department medics could not revive him. The victim, a man in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

Whitcomb said there were no witnesses and that they do not have any suspects or information on a possible motive.

Homicide detectives were expected to be at the scene for several hours searching for evidence.
