Man Held In Teen’s Death Released From Jail

EVERETT, Wash. —

A Lynnwood man who was being held in the death of a teenager has been released from jail.

The Snohomish County Jail roster confirmed that suspect Robert Spillum was no longer at the facility on Tuesday.

Spillum was arrested last week after 16-year-old Jamie Leavitt was found dead at Spillum's home.

Prosecutors said Spillum punched the boy numerous times before Leavitt collapsed.

Spillum was released from jail because charges had not been filed within the 72-hour deadline, authorities said.
