LAKEWOOD, Wash. —
A man police say is throwing mysterious liquids at women and children in Lakewood is believed to be the same man whos been groping women.
So far, there have been five liquid attack incidents. Three of them occurred on Monday, Lakewood police said. Police said the incidents all happened within a mile of each other.
Terra Day said she was walking home last Thursday when a man on a bike cut her off and threw a balloon filled with a mysterious liquid into her face.
It smelled a lot like antifreeze and Pine Sol, and the cops said they definitely saw egg on the ground, said Day. It burned my nose and throat, and you do that involuntary gasp thing. It was in my eyes.
On Wednesday, a sketch of Days attacker was posted at the Lakewood store where the attack happened.
Police said the suspect is not only wanted for throwing mysterious liquids at six women and children but he has also groped several women.
Officers said the man grabbed one womans buttocks while she was jogging at Fort Steilacoom Park on Aug. 30. A few hours later, he targeted a woman who asked KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reporter Richard Thompson to call her Dhey.
Dhey says she was frightened and angry as she walked back to her apartment from the mailbox and a man on bicycle rode up and groped her from behind
He grabbed my butt with a pinch, said Dhey. I screamed and swore at him because I was so mad.
Police said the man is most often seen riding a black or black and silver bicycle, and police said they are intensifying their hunt for the man before he strikes again.
Police are increasing patrols in the neighborhood where these attacks are happening.
Anyone with information about the incidents is asked to call Lakewood police.
