DES MOINES, Wash. —
A man who was shot multiple times knocked on a stranger’s door asking for help but refused to cooperate when officers arrived, police said.
Des Moines police officers said the shooting occurred in the parking lot of the Valu Inn at 22246 Pacific Highway South early Monday.
According to a police spokesman at the scene of the shooting, officers were called to the motel after receiving calls about shots fired in the area around 12:30 a.m.
Police said they found a shooting victim after receiving an additional 911 call nearby from someone who said that a man knocked on his door, asking for help and saying that he had been shot.
Police said the man, who had been shot four times with a small-caliber handgun, did not cooperate with investigators.
Police have no description or information about the gunman.
Anyone with information is asked to call the Des Moines Police Department.
